David has accumulated a vast amount of experience in the development and evolution of accounting software.
He began his career in 1969 as a computer programmer. During these early years, David worked closely with the Building Advisory Service (the consultancy arm of the National Federation of Building Trade Employees) to develop several new software systems for the building industry.
In the 1980s David played a key role in the development of Buildax, an extremely successful product for the construction industry. Following the sale of Buildax, David started a new company and along with many of his team from the Buildax days they developed MICAbuild. As Managing Director, David was vital in the formation and direction of the product. MICAbuild grew to become one of the largest and most successful construction accounting products in the markeplace. In 1996, the company was forced to sell by shareholders. David’s next appointment was as Managing Director of Wallchart International Ltd, a scheduling system software company.
In the new millennium, David was personally contacted by many of MICAbuild’s former clients as they were dissatisfied with the selection of accounting products available in the marketplace. David together with Martin Woolger and other key MICABuild personnel, made the decision to create and develop a new accounting product specifically for the construction industry and so, Mardak Ltd was formed.
David has nearly 40 years experience in computer software design. This has provided him with extensive knowledge and understanding of the construction industry’s bespoke requirements from its’ accounting software.
He takes great pride in offering an outstanding product, excellent service to the company’s clients and providing an enjoyable and satisfying working environment for staff.
