Martin Woolger

Martin is an accountant by trade and the majority of his career has been spent working in the construction and allied industries.

Early in his career Martin was responsible for the accounts department of a concrete block manufacturer based in Sussex.  They provided building products to contracts in the South East. This was followed by a 6 year employment as Financial Controller with a heating and ventilation subcontractor based in Surrey.  Along with a large UK workforce, they were the main electrical subcontractor involved with four sports stadiums based in the Middle East.

Martin’s next role was as the Financial Director of a speculative house builder based in his home town of Horsham. The company produced up to 300 units per year from starter homes through to 5 bed luxury housing. After 8 years this company was sold to a Scottish house builder and became their Southern operation.

Martin remained in the Housing industry and became the Financial Director of a national house builder. This role continued until the late 1980’s when following a downturn in the housing market, he decided on a change of industry and joined MICABuild Ltd in 1989. Martin remained with MICABuild and its subsequent owners when the company was sold in 1996 until 2003.

Following the termination of the support of the MICABuild product in 2003, Martin along with David Hammond and other key MICABuild personnel realised that there was a need in the construction accounting market for a new, technically advanced product and so together they founded Mardak.
