Financials

Mardak Construction Accounts is a complete financial information system developed specifically for the construction industry. In particular, our Nominal, Contract and Cash Book modules (which are all part of our core accounting package) together control and provide the essential financial information about your business. They provide the following:

  • Instant update of transactions with controls defined to your requirements
  • Standard reports and enquiries for regular business reporting
  • Configurable reports and enquiries can be defined to your requirements
  • Drilldown enquiries from summary level down to detail of individual transactions
  • Full handling of VAT including non-recoverable VAT for house building
  • Full multi currency handling

Our Nominal Ledger controls the financial aspects of your business across multi company and multi divisional structures. Summaries or detailed management information can be easily obtained through the reporting options.

User definable profit & loss and balance sheet reporting including consolidation is standard. This can contain the actual, budget and variance reporting for the year to date and current period as well as comparisons to the previous year. There is no limit on the number of budget sets which can be held.

Nominal Budget and Budget Patterns

MCA’s Nominal Ledger enables you to monitor costs and income against the nominal accounts and can control down to any nominal level. Budget patterns enable you to proportion budgets against specific periods.

The following functionality is included:

  • Sales, costs and overheads summarised onto a single screen
  • User definable screens and views; ability to interrogate data and display it in a variety of graphs and pie charts, rather than just the traditional Profit & Loss top-down hierarchical view
  • Combining budgets, actuals and differences for the current year, last year or next year
  • Detailed VAT reports with the ability to run retrospectively

Information available within the Nominal Ledger module can be displayed on a year by year view.  Bespoke reports can also be set up and saved to obtain specific information which you may require. The following functionality is available to enhance your ability to analyse and report on your company financials.

  • Information can be viewed by up to five levels of organisational and departmental analysis to cost centres and individual accounts
  • Any combination of the information can be displayed and graphed directly from within the nominal ledger
  • Drill down (from any cost centre or account) to display the double entry of transactions - allocation history, source documents (such as sales invoices) and the order from which an invoice originated
  • Transactions can be kept indefinitely and reported on using any structure you have defined
Contract Cash Position Management

A key feature of MCA’s Contract Ledger module is the ability to check the actual cash position on every contract. This allows you to view costs on a contract balance and the actual cash spend on a contract; this can be compared against the cash received from clients to analyse the actual contract cash position.

Multi-Level Job & Cost Structure

The Contract Ledger supports a multi-level job and cost structure. Multiple tiers of contracts can be defined. Job and estimate information are captured prior to commencement, with changes and costs added during the period of contract. The multiple job and cost structure allows enquiries and reporting at summary, transaction or intermediate levels both at fixed periods or any other time.

Analysis of contracts by labour, materials and subcontractors is provided. Contracts are linked to nominal account codes for automatic posting. Entries to the contract can be created from any transaction including Invoices, Timesheets or Journals.

Grouped Contract Enquiry

Enquiries made in the Contract Ledger can be manipulated using key data held against the contract to sort and subtotal. This can be carried out by Region, Type of Contract, Contracts Manager etc… Multiple grouping levels can be achieved by a simple “drag and drop”. The enquiry then allows you to drill down from group totals to detailed costs against individual contracts.

Cash Book

Our Cash Book module provides electronic bank reconciliation to speed up the process. Multiple cash books can be set up per company. Unlimited accounts for foreign currency, credit cards and petty cash are available, offering you the flexibility required to meet your company needs. The MCA Cash Book is fully compatible with BACS-IP and all online banking applications. Our Cash Book module enables extensive drilldown enquiries on receipts and expenses for the current year, last year or all years.

Petty Cash

A Petty Cash facility is incorporated within the Cash Book, enabling you to track and reconcile the balance of multiple cash floats.
